Why has drinking water to be pretreated when using it for pharmaceutical water production?
Drinking water is normally only treated for human consumption, if it is treated at all, and often contains organic compounds which can quickly lead to coating of membranes, and even cause microbiological issues, e. g. the formation of biofilm.
