EDQM: New Working Party on 3D-printed Medicinal Products

The European Pharmacopoeia Commission (EPC) approved the creation of a working party on 3D-printed medicinal products. Its aim is to support the development of appropriate quality standards in the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.).

The working party will identify where new pharmacopoeial texts are needed and where existing texts should be revised. The initiative reflects the growing importance of pharmaceutical 3D printing for personalised medicines, innovative dosage forms and decentralised manufacturing, particularly in hospital pharmacies.

Experts with several years of experience in the development, manufacture, quality control, assessment or inspection of 3D-printed medicinal products are invited to express their interest.
