Ilka Henkel

Ilka Henkel has been an independent packaging consultant and auditor for suppliers of primary and secondary packaging materials for the pharmaceutical industry since 2014. One of her specialties is the auditing of typesetting studios. Ilka Henkel is a member of the SHS Pharma Team expert group and co-author of the defect evaluation lists for printed aluminum packaging and tubes.

After completing her engineering studies, specializing in chemistry and materials technology, Ilka Henkel began working as a production technologist in the pharmaceutical industry in 1976. In 1978 she shifted her focus to sterile production and quality management for packaging materials. In the following years she was responsible for product transfers, product launches, packaging developments and supplier connections.

In 1991, she was accredited as an auditor for primary and secondary packaging materials and since then has worked as an in-house lead auditor for Hoffmann-La Roche and Bayer Consumer Care. In 2006, her area of responsibility was expanded to include Regional Packaging Manager for Europe and Latin America at the headquarters of Bayer Consumer Care AG Basel. Ilka Henkel was a member of the Packaging Materials Working Group (AKP).
