What is the dual function of protective clothing in pharmaceutical manufacturing?

Personnel in pharmaceutical plants are often exposed to numerous occupational hazards through contact with hazardous substances and highly potent drugs. Conversely, drugs and their precursors can also be contaminated and their quality compromised by human in-fluences during manufacture. The protective clothing protects the employee from harmful effects of the product and protects the product from contamination by the employee.
